etched owl glasses

For my owl-obsessed friend Sonja's Christmas gift, I etched a set of owl glasses.

Glass etching is one of those simple, satisfying projects that anyone can make with the right supplies.  All you need is glass etching cream, vinyl or contact paper, glass to etch, and if you're smart - protective gloves.  I cut the owls out of vinyl on my Silhouette Cameo, but you can definitely do it by hand if you are patient.  Apply the vinyl to the glass and etching cream on top of that.  The etching cream will work wherever it comes into contact with the glass.  Wait the recommended time, then rinse off the glass.  That's it!
